Do you need a reason to paint a flamingo?

I've had the blue background painted for nearly a year, it moved from the last house to this one, stayed in the garage for months. Gathered dust and whatnot.

Today, for no real reason at all, I decided to paint a flamingo on it. So I did.  Acrylic on canvas, 11x14.
